Armour was the original use of chainmail. Although not used in day-to-day life anymore the appeal of chainmail armour has still remained high. Dark Age Creations provides an assortment of armour including shirts, coifs and mantels for collectors and medieval combat re-enactors alike. All of the below armour is made from 16 gage mild steel wire. This is the most historically accurate type of wire available. Looking for something different? Any of our chainmail armour can be "fire blackened" to give it a dull black finish. Additional cost dependent on the size of the piece.

Mail Shirts DAC provides 3 types of mail shirts. The sleevless vest comes to the waist. The Byrnie is the equivalant of a chainmail T-shirt. It also comes to the waist but has short sleves that come to the elbow. Lastly is the Hauberk. This shirt is knee length and has full sleeves. All mail shirts are made frome 3/8ths 16 ga links. Coif A Chainmail piece used primaraly as head protection by poorer men-at-arms who could not afford the expensive helms. Coifs where also used by some knights and richer solders under a great helm to provide added protection to the neck and other areas the helm may not cover. Bishop's Mantle Chainmail armour that would protect the shoulders and lower neck. An excellent piece of armour for those who don't wear a coif. Order it! Price: $85.00 CAD
Mail Gloves Chainmail covering overtop of a leather glove provides excellent protection for your entire hand without the loss of movement in your fingers.
