"Desktop Systems" is a collaboration of
more than 40 current and former Microsoft MVPs.
The group works together daily on all kinds of computer problems using a list
server.
The Desktop Systems members, along with many other expert computer users can be found on the Microsoft Public Newsgroups solving computer problems. Although we also have contacts within Microsoft Support, we are volunteers, independent developers, support and IT professionals, programmers and users who share a passion for helping others solve computer problems. The Microsoft MVP provides no-charge support to users of Microsoft products. The range of advice offered ranges from very specific OS and application functions to hardware and 3rd party software recommendations. All advice given is the personal opinion of the MVP, and does not necessarily reflect official Microsoft positions. In the internet revolution, email has fundamentally changed the way we communicate, bringing people closer together all over the world. A parallel revolution has been taking place almost unnoticed, the development of newsgroups as a tool for problem solving and learning. Just think, you can present your question to the world on a public newsgroup and within hours literally dozens of people all over the world are thinking about it, trying to come up with a solution for you. If you have been using websites like Cnet or Deja News to access online support forums with your internet browser, I suggest that you try a newsreader program instead. There are a number of excellent newsreaders around, it's a matter of preference, but one of the best is included with IE5, Outlook Express. |
