Welcome to Victoria's premiere community-based dragon boat and outrigger team, the Dragonauts.  We are a competitive, enthusiastic  group of twenty-six individuals from all walks of life who have come together to participate in these truly unique team sports.

August 17, 2008:  Dragonauts place 9th overall against a field of over 90 teams at the Victoria International Dragon Boat Festival in Victoria's Inner Harbour.

August 9, 2008:  Dragonauts place 8th out of over 45 teams at the Vancouver Island Dragon Boat Championships in Victoria, BC.

July 13, 2008:  Dragonauts win Mixed Diamond "B" final and place 13th overall at the Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival against a field of over 80 teams.

May 24, 2008:  Dragonauts take second place in Red "A" Division and 9th place overall at the Gorge Super Sprints against a field of over 30 teams.  Click HERE for a slideshow of the event. 

August 19, 2007:  Dragonauts take Bronze in the top Platinum "A" Division and third place overall at the Victoria International Dragon Boat Festival against a field of 90 teams from across BC and the Western US.   The Dragonauts finish the 2007 season ranked 2nd with 154 points in the Dragon Boat West Team Standings, surpassed only by Vancouver's World Champion FCRCC Mixed team.

August 11, 2007:  Dragonauts take Gold in the top Blue "A" Division and first place overall at the Vancouver Island Dragon Boat Championships.  Against a field of over 50 teams from across Vancouver Island the Dragonauts won the festival with a final 500 metre race time of 2:01.90 against the Navy Dragon Anchors, Xtreme Reach and ssSteam Heat.

July 8, 2007:  Dragonauts take Gold in the top Platinum "A" Division, and first place overall, at the Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival.  Against a field of 68 teams from across British Columbia and Washington State the Dragonauts won the festival with final 500 metre race time of  2:04.91 against the Navy Dragon Anchors, the Portland Fire Dragons and Precision Impossible.

 

June 17, 2007:  Dragonauts break into the elite top-10, taking home Silver in the Competitive "B" Championships at the 2007 Alcan Dragon Boat Festival in Vancouver, BC.  Against a field of over 165 teams from across North America our 9th place overall finish is a very proud accomplishment for the team this season.

June 9, 2007:  Dragonauts Women's Outrigger Team take 4th and Men's Outrigger Team take 5th at Island Iron - Race 3 of the 2007 CORA Cup OC6 Series in Victoria BC.

May 12, 2007:  Dragonauts Men's Outrigger Team take third at Penticton Duel in the Desert - Race 1 of the 2007 CORA Cup OC6 Series, finishing the 18km Iron distance course in 1:21:26.

April 14, 2007:  Dragonauts Mixed Senior Masters take Gold, Men's Open take Silver, Mixed Open  take Bronze and Women's Open teams place 4th and 5th at the Wake Up the Gorge outrigger sprint races held at the Victoria Canoe and Kayak Club (VCKC).

 

March 8, 2007:  Dragonauts Women place 3rd at the Crazy Eight 13km outrigger race in Nanaimo and Dragonauts Men place 2nd at the Kan-U-Hakit outrigger sprint races in Victoria.

The Dragonauts train out of the Gorge Rowing and Paddling Centre (GRPC) located on the Selkirk waterfront in beautiful Victoria , BC, Canada.
