Content - ( Can earn a total of 35 points )
- A personal or commercial site that has something entertaining, educational or informative will always be of interest to the Internet community in general.
- A definite plus to any site is having original content such as art, poetry, photography or a useful product and or service.
- Your site must contain more than links to other sites. A site that is entertaining as well as informative will always stand out above the rest.
- The entrance page of your site should captivate your visitor's interest and make them want to look further through your pages.
- Update your site on a regular weekly or monthly basis, this will attract visitors to return if they like what they see on their first visit.
- Spelling and grammar should be checked before submitting your application; we do deduct points for errors.
Design and Layout - ( Can earn a total of 30 points )
- Your site must have some sort of uniform design that is pleasing to the eye and the font must be easy to read. A different background on every page doesn't do it justice and can be very hard on the eyes.
- Put some thought into the layout so that the presentation is pleasing to the eye. There should be a consistent look about your pages, please don't make them too crowded or have too much free space either.
- Graphics should be good quality with no more than two animated graphics per page. If you don't use your own graphics, you must give credit where credit is due.
- Points will be deducted for broken images.
- It's better to divide one long page up into two but if you have a page that has more than 3 scrolls, please have a "Top Of Page" link at the bottom of page.
- Please don’t apply if you’ve got more than one advertising pop-up on site.
Originality - ( Can earn a total of 15 points )
- We like to see a persons creativity and imagination utilized to it's fullest potential. Being able to create something original is a real gift and can be a very expressive art form. If you are able to make us say, "Wow how did they do that", then you have accomplished what we are looking for in originality.
Navigation and load time - ( Can earn a total of 10 points.)
- Navigation must be easy and if you use java script navigation, please have a clearly defined text link option.
- Please check to make sure there are no dead ends before you apply, we don't want to use our browsers back button in order to find our way out.
- Please make sure that all intralinks work and 80% of external links should be functional.
- An email address or a contact form should be accessible from every page of the site.
- Please have a " Skip Intro " link on flash entrance pages.
- All pages should load completely within 60 seconds using a 56k modem.
Judges overall impression - ( Can earn a total of 10 points )
- If the content and overall appearance of the site is original, stimulating, educational or entertaining, then you will score well here.
- Your final score will be reached by averaging out the scores of each judge combined.
