Automatic disqualification for the following :

If it becomes obvious that you have not read our criteria.

If the site contains pornography, racist/hate material.

If the site promotes illegal activity of any kind. See Details

If site contains only links and banners.

If you have Trailing cursors or forced Comet cursor downloads.

Under construction signs or "Coming Soon" notices. See Details

More than one advertising pop-up. See Details

Stealing bandwidth or using stolen images.

Horizontal scrollbar at 800 x 600 resolution resulting from poor page layout.

If your site asks for personal information, and does not have a privacy policy.

If you freeze or crash our browsers more than once.

Scripts that prevent us from leaving your site and if "ctrl - alt - delete" is needed to leave.

Content :

Your site must be in English or at least offer an English version.

Commercial and personal websites are welcome.

Only the person who created the site may apply.

Site must be family oriented and suitable for all ages.

All sites must have at least 6 pages of quality content. See Details

We will check for errors in spelling and grammar, keep to a minimum.

If your site asks for personal information, it must contain a privacy policy.

All intralinks must work and 80% of external links should be functional.

If the site contains music you must provide a way to turn it off.

No more than one advertising pop-up. See Details

No passwords to view site. See Details

There must be a special awards page to display the awards won.

Sorry, we do not evaluate stand alone award programs. See Details

Design and Layout :

Your site should be pleasing to the eye with clear, easy to read font.

Have a consistent background with a uniform color scheme.

No more than two animated graphics per page and no broken images.

Give credit when using somebody else´s graphics.

If you are using Java applets please make sure they work.

All sites should be viewable in both 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768 resolutions.

We check sites for compatibility with Internet Explorer 5+ and Netscape 6+.

Navigation :

Clear and simple navigation is a must.

We do not want to run into dead ends or have to use our browsers back button.

Use " Skip Intro " when using Flash entrance page.

Have a clearly defined text link option if you use javascript navigation.

Alt tags should be used on all images that are linked.

All pages should load within 60 seconds using a 56k modem.

Extra Info :

I do not require that you link back to me, but you must display the award won on your site.

Your site will be placed on my winners list once I have verified the award is displayed.

I reserve the right to remove a winning site from my winners list if it does not adhere to Doug's World Awards Program and it's criteria.

My award graphics are copyrighted. Do not alter my awards without first receiving authorization. If you do, I will request that you remove my award graphic from your site due to copyright infringement. You will then be removed from my winners list.

In order to comply with C.O.P.P.A. you must be at least 14 years of age to nominate a Web title. If you are under 14, you may have a parent or guardian apply for you.
