About Textureshop
Textureshop is a seamless texture generator capable of generating a near infinite
number of textures. Users of Virtus's Alien Skin Textureshop* will be familiar with
its interface, though we have given users much more control over the generation of
textures.
Whether you are a graphics professional looking for innovative skins, detail or
bump maps, or a novice looking to spice up their presentation, web pages, or desktop pictures,
Textureshop can generate the texture you need!

Frequently Asked Questions
Texture generation takes too long, is there any way to speed it up?
Texture generation is a complex and resource consuming operation you can speed up the generation by reducing the size of the texture you are generating though. You can change the size of the internally used texture by altering the internal texture resolution in the Textureshop->Preferences menu item. This won't affect either your copy & paste resolution or your saving resolution.
Some of the textures being generated come out black, is this normal?
Yes, when the light color and a surface color combine sometimes the resulting color is black. Altering the light color, position, and bumpmap width can all affect the resulting image as can the gradient mapped to the texture itself.
Will you be offering Textureshop as an Adobe Photoshop* Plugin?
No. We may add tighter integration with any photo editing program, but due to the way Photoshop* plugins are built, it may not be possible to package Textureshop as a plugin. We also do not want to favor one third party image editing application over another.
Are you connected with Virtus*, Alien Skin*, or Alien Skin Textureshop*?
No. A few years ago I found myself using the discontinued and unsupported Alien Skin Textureshop in Classic mode fairly often. Crashes as well as no control over what was being generated frustrated me and led me to develop a fairly simplistic version of Textureshop for Mac OS X. Textureshop is the result of that project and a graphic designer friends suggestion that the Macintosh community needed a native and supported replacement for AST*.
