Thunder, Perfect Mind
For I am the first and the last.
I am the honored one and the scorned one.
I am the whore and the holy one.
I am the wife and the virgin . . .
I am the bride and the bridegroom,
and it is my husband who begot me.
I am the barren one,
and many are her sons . . .
I am knowledge and ignorance . . .
I am foolish and I am wise . . .
I am the one whom they call life
and you have called Death
I am the silence that is incomprehensible . . .
I am the utterance of my name.
- Poem found among Lost Gospels at Nag Hammadi
And Mo'ses said unto God, behold,
when I come unto the children of Is'ra-el
and shall say unto them,
The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you:
and they shall say to me,
What is his name?
what shall I say unto them?
And God said unto Mo'ses,
I AM THAT I AM:
And he said,
Thou shalt say unto the children of Is'ra-el,
I AM hath sent me unto you.
- Exodus III, 13-14
