About Me

I'm a Marine Engineer who, in addition to my chosen profession, has developed a passion for computers and computer programming. My first exposure to the world of programming was with a brand new TI99a, a computer game magazine (with source code) and a Sunday afternoon. I was hooked. Through the years, I've had a go at QBasic, QuickBasic 4.5, VB-DOS, VB (versions 3 through 6) and now Delphi 7.

Do I consider myself a Programmer? No, not even close, but then neither do I consider myself a welder, machinist, pipe-fitter, plumber, electrician, naval-architect, metallurgist, fire-fighter... but these are all tools I require for my trade and some proficiency in each is required. I think computer programming fits quite nicely into the mix of talents, that is required of a Marine Engineer.

My objective has never been more than to provide myself an additional tool that I considered important for my trade and perhaps a piece or two of user specific software for use by my peers. I am getting there and if I stop getting side-tracked by other projects and little jaunts like this one, I expect I'll eventually tie it all together and see that goal through. Now, I'm a hobbyist who enjoys working with Visual Basic, Delphi, City Desk and my newest tool of choice, CMS Encore Pro.

I don't have an e-mail link here (working on a CMS Encore Pro e-mail scramble tool though) any-more but you can usually find me at either the CMS Encore Pro NG or the one for CityDesk. Look for posting from either DKeighan or PNII.

Keeping the site up to date will be the challenge.
