Important InformationRefund PolicyOnce information has been given it cannot be taken back. Therefore, the Academy's refund policy is as follows. Once an application and payment has been received from a student, no refund can be made.
Payment OptionsFull payment must be received prior to sending out your course. If payment is made by cheque, there is a waiting period of 10 business days within Canada.If payment is by money order, from any country, Unit 1 will be sent within 7 days of receipt of payment. All other countries other than Canada must send payment in form of money order. We do not provide partial payment options or plans. Payment is required in
full prior to issuing Unit 1 of the course.
Additional CostsDuring the course of study, students may incur search costs and incidental costs required to conduct the field exercises. These expenses are the responsibility of the student. These fees are usually minor ( $20.00-$50.00) and are at times charged for things such as searches at government offices.
Pedagogical NoteThe course consists of two units. After completing and submitting Unit One, the second unit will be sent. This is in order to assist the student to follow the educational sequence the course was designed to provide. Students have one year from date of enrollment on receipt to complete the course.
Achievement RequirementsStudents of The Canadian Academy of Private Investigation must achieve a minimum grade of 70% in order to graduate and receive their graduation certificate.
LicensingStudents should check with their local licensing agency / Justice Dept. for information regarding licensing in the area they wish to practice. You will not be a licensed P.I. through CAPI. Each state/province/country has their own criteria.
