HOW TO PLAN A WORKSHOP:

If your community is interested in sponsoring a Canadian Disaster Child Care workshop, please contact:

RESPONSIBILITIES OF HOSTING COMMUNITY:

  • provide location to host 27 hour workshop
  • location should include washrooms, chairs, tables, and meeting area (schools, recreation centres or church halls have worked well in the past)
  • presentation supplies including overhead projector, VCR player, television, flip chart board, and paper
  • meals
  • transportation/lodging of trainers (in British Columbia the Ministry of Human Resources, Emergency Social Services will pay for transportation and lodging of trainers).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF CANADIAN DISASTER CHILD CARE SOCIETY:

  • provide professional training for attendees
  • supply caregivers with workshop manual
  • maintain and update contact information of certified caregivers to be accessed during a disaster

 

AFTER CDCC HAS APPROVED WORKSHOP, COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS WILL REQUIRE FOLLOWING TO ADVERTISE WORKSHOP AND REGISTER ATTENDEES:
