Ginny Garner, Marjorie Price, Harvey Monnette, Donna Grobell

Ginny Garner of the B.C. Provincial Emergency Program presents a "Certificate of Appreciation" to Canadian Disaster Child Care Society volunteers at October 2002 City of Cranbrook Council Meeting.

On August 12 ,2002  Canadian Disaster Child Care Society set up a child care centre at a Reception Centre operated by Cranbrook Emergency Social Services.  The devastating Tudor House Apartment  fire  left 63 people homeless.  Four families with children lived in the 100 year old former hospital complex.  While family members completed paperwork, the Child Care Volunteers cared for the young evacuees.

Harvey Monnette expressed surprise when the children drew pictures of the fire "just like in our training."  Appreciation to the Canadian Disaster Child Care Society was offered at the City of Cranbrook, October 21, 2002, Council Meeting.
