Volume 1, Issue 6 October/November 2004 In the Spotlight....Emergency Management Mayor Harvey Rosen has commended Laura Austin, Supervisor of Children's Services for her efforts in helping with the hurricane disaster recovery in the Pensacola Florida area: "On behalf of City Council, I would like to congratulate you on your efforts on behalf of those who have suffered due to this natural disaster. Hopefully, you won't have to implement the new skills you have learned, but it is nice to know that if needed, you have them to bring to our emergency efforts" As a member of the Department of Community Services Emergency Response Team (DERT), Laura is responsible for coordinating the City of Kingston's emergency/disaster childcare services. The opportunity to experience first hand the disaster recovery services in Florida will help us to continue to improve our emergency response and recovery plans. Congratulations Laura and thank you! |
