Last Show of the Year
October 19, 2009
|
Hello All. We've booked our last show of 2009 and we'd love to celebrate with you. November we'll be in studio, December Leo will be in Chile, so November 1st will be our last show. It will also be the last show with Troy Nowaselski on bass guitar as he's leaving us for greener pastures. Troy will still be recording with us, so his immeasurable talents will grace our record for the new year. So come celebrate with us in style, our own little End of the Year/New Year's party. We'll be the supporting act for Canadian touring band The Joys at On The Rocks, November 1st. $5 Cover. Doors 9PM. We take the stage at 10PM. Hope to see you there.

October Updates
October 04, 2009
With Jet Nightclub closing down in September, and the new owners opening a dance club in its place, Looking East has worked some magic to get us into Brooklyn's Lounge, across the street from The Old Jet Nightclub. This means Looking East, Despite the Blindness, and one more act that I haven't heard confirmed yet will be playing Brooklyn's Lounge Friday, October 23, 2009. We'll post details as we get them.
Also, DTB's studio time has been expanded from two weeks to four weeks. This means we'll be setting up in the makeshift Two Bodies of Water Studios Oct 16th instead of DJ Dudeman Studios November 1st. Mike Brazeau will still co-produce and co-engineer the recording. Keeps your eyes out for samples in December.

More New Shows
August 20, 2009
What a busy, reduculous day. Three shows were confirmed today. To begin, Pete at Eddie Shorts has asked us back to anchor the Labour Day weekend, so we'll be playing this great little rock pub the 4th and 5th of September. There are no tickets and no cover, just great music. We're looking for two other bands to join us on the weekend.
Second, the Just a Game Theme Song Contest has reopened, to run September 22nd & 29th, and October 6th. Despite the Blindness will be playing September 29th, showcasing some of our best material for the judges at On The Rocks. Come out and cheer us on at one of Edmonton's Best Live Venues.

3 Things to Discuss
July 22, 2009
We are pleased to announce that Despite the Blindness will have an opening slot for local sensation Grounded Star, August 1st @ Brixx Bar & Grill. Search them out on MySpace. They are a great heavy progressive band that is starting to make some noise around the city. Check out the details in the "Intimate & In Person" secion.
Two bands have been added to the line up for the Ivory Club show. Cockatoo & Age Old Mistake have been added to the bill. We're excited to have such a great line up for what is rumoured to be the last "rock show" at the club, which is also a restaurant. Again, check out the details in the "Intimate & In Person" secion.
Despite the Blindness has finally joined Twitter. Follow them a the link below to stay up to date on EVERYTHING the band does, from Leo's experimentation with Hair Products to how Troy's cold is beating him down to itch James is trying not to scratch in public.

A New Look for the New Year
February 18, 2009
|
In January of this year, James Seabrook was asked to participate in a new project with Leonardo B Gonzalez, and the pair started songwriting. It didn't take long to realize that the two were moving in the same direction and they eventually decided to reinvent DTB into a more aggressive collaboration. It wasn't long before Troy Nowaselski joined the pair to contribute. March begins with a new plan, starting with 8 days of recording. Stay tuned as we wait for what is to unfold.
