Leyland trolleybus 488 at St. Kilda Tram Museum. (See following photo). Photographer and date unknown.
Leyland 488 was one of a batch of trolleys built for Canton (Guangzhou) but diverted to Australia during WW 2. Others from this batch went to Hobart and Perth. It is believed that some went to Pontevedra, Spain. It is preserved at the St. Kilda Tram Museum. Photo by Peter Guttridge. 2007? From the collection of Peter Guttridge.
'Also preserved at the St. KildaTram Museum is Adelaide's and Australia's first trolleybus which ran experimentally between Payneham and Paradise. It was converted from one of a fleet of Garford double deck motorbuses which the Municipal Tramway's Trust had taken over from the South Australian Railways.' PG. Photo by Peter Guttridge. 2007?
