Dynamic Campaign Generator: Beta Campaign
- "Poland 1939"
For Combat Flight Simulator 2TM
Using the Dynamic Campaign Generator, the
Poland 1939 Campaign, and third party planes, fly a fighter for the Luftwaffe
against hopelessly outclassed but determine Polish airforce.
While this DCG add-on's data files are
included in the main DCG download, it requires the requires the freeware
Polish Campaign available from Robin's
Combat Flight Simulator 2 site. Also, recommended is at least
one freeware Messerschmitt in order to play. See below for more information
on the recommended planes, see below.
Installation
If you already have DCG version 5.5 or
larger, no update is necessary; if you do not, then download the main DCG
files. Note: the campaign uses one stock (CFS1) airbase with
no infrastructure. To avoid unnecessary AI deaths, it is recommended
that all planes start airborne. Also, for full "blitzkreig" effect,
the DCG "Move Front" option should be checked.
Recommended 3rd Party Planes
While only the Polish Campaign is required,
the following are recommended as substitutes for the player's squadron
for this campaign (although any other planes can be substituted):
One of I
soliti 4 gatti Add-On Design Workshop's Messerschmitt Bf-109E on their
"Other Nations Page".
James Grimes' Messerschmitt Bf-109E available
at Netwings.
Blonde Knight's Messerschmitt Bf-110 Night
Fighter available at Netwings.
Configuring 3rd Party Planes/Ships
Install any third party planes you wish
to add according to the specific install instructions for each. Open
(in NotePad) the campaign.dcg file found in the "dcg_campaign/Poland39"
which should be in your main CFS2 folder. Replace the "type_id" of
the plane or planes you wish to switch with the folder name of the plane
you wish to substitute it with. For example, replace the type id
for the player squadron from "f4f4_wildcat" to "sea_hurricane_ib".
Alternatively, run DCG and generate a mission. DCG will prompt
you to select an equivelant plane for any plane not found in your aircraft
folder. Add ships to the ship file in the same manner.
Known Issues
Player's operating multi-engine bombers
may find their wingmen dive-bombing (and crashing into the sea).
This bug is with the IA and may not be correctable. A few of the
aircraft DP files are missing critical information in the MISC DATA section.
Specifically, the "category" type is missing. These should be added.
