Dynamic Campaign Generator: Beta Campaign
- "Germany 1943"
For Combat Flight Simulator 2TM
Using the Dynamic Campaign Generator and
third party planes, fly a night fighter for the Luftwaffe against Lancasters
from RAF Bomber Command in this beta mini-campaign. This campaign
is not as fully developed as the others for DCG and is included only as
a sample of what is possible with DCG.
While this DCG add-on is included in the
main DCG download, it requires 3rd party add-ons in order to play.
See below for more information.
Installation
If you already have DCG version 5.1 or
larger, no update is necessary; if you do not, then download the main DCG
files. Note: the campaign uses stock (CFS1) airbases with little
or no infrastructure. To avoid unnecessary AI deaths, it is recommended
that all planes start airborne. Also, for full effect, the DCG "Night"
weather option should be checked.
Required 3rd Party Planes
The following are required for this campaign
(although other planes can be substituted):
VB Planes' Avro Lancaster available at
VB
Planes at Sim-Outhouse.
Blonde Knight's Messerschmidt Bf-110 Night
Fighter at the Combat
Flight Center.
Recommended 3rd Party Planes
The following are recommended for this
campaign (although other planes can be substituted):
Stuart Green's Handley Page Halifax B MkVII
at his CFS2
Hanger.
Configuring 3rd Party Planes/Ships
Install any third party planes you wish
to add according to the specific install instructions for each. Open
(in NotePad) the campaign.dcg file found in the "dcg_campaign/Germany43"
which should be in your main CFS2 folder. Replace the "type_id" of
the plane or planes you wish to switch with the folder name of the plane
you wish to substitute it with. For example, replace the type id
for the player squadron from "f4f4_wildcat" to "sea_hurricane_ib".
Alternatively, run DCG and generate a mission. DCG will prompt
you to select an equivelant plane for any plane not found in your aircraft
folder. Add ships to the ship file in the same manner.
Known Issues
Player's operating multi-engine bombers
may find their wingmen dive-bombing (and crashing into the sea).
This bug is with the IA and may not be correctable. Setting a seaplane
at a land base may make them "stick" to the runway and setting wheeled
planes at seaplane bases will cause them to sink and explode. Missions
from bases west of Greenwich will generate strange results so all bases
should be east of the line.
