Clean Sweep U.S.A. - Enter the world of waste management at Clean Sweep U.S.A. There are six solid-waste topics for students to explore. For example, Garbage Pizza, looks at what makes up our garbage and lets students create their own "pizza graph" of everyday trash and print the masterpiece. The detailed lesson plans focus on web-based research and classroom activities for "Keep America Beautiful" ­ perfect for Earth Day, April 22.

Library Video - Schlessinger Media has converted approximately 75% of their educational videos to DVD, complete with a Spanish language track, chapter index and Teacher's Guides. The website offers sample clips for most titles.

Taking Photos - Photos are the main visual focus for digital scrapbooking.

Image Resolution - This excellent resource defines image file formats and explains print topics such as color, page layout, resolution and image types.

Editing Digital Images - There are also a number of software/web-based photo services that will support your photo editing and layout design. These tools make it easy to import/export photos, edit, add special effects and organize into albums.

iPhoto ­ An iLife '06 product from Apple. Mac OS X

Picasa2 ­ Free download from Google with one-click editing and effects. Win2000/XP.

Kodak EasyShare Gallery ­ This free software download is a great way to store and edit digital photos. Use one-click edit tools to enhance lighting, crop and even create collages of four to 100 photos. Win/Mac.

Snapfish ­ This online photo service from HP facilitates camera or computer uploads ­ even e-mail photos from your mobile phone. Install PhotoShow for more features. Win.

Yahoo! Photos ­ Upload pictures and print at home or school ­ or order and pick up prints at a local Target store, US only.

The Mary Rose - ( 2 - 12 ) - this interesting Web site is devoted to a Sixteenth Century warship called the Mary Rose built from 1509 - 1511.

National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration - ( K - 12 ) - this site provides information on atmospheric research, protection of marine mammals, fisheries, satellite imagery, hurricanes, and tsunamis.

Ohio Math Works - ( 6 - 10 ) - is an award-winning Web site where students can learn about the uses of math in the real world.

THOMAS: Library of Congress - ( K - 12 ) - here find information on all the activity in the U.S. Congress.

Turtle Trax - ( 2 - 12 ) - this site describes all aspects of the Hawaiian Green Turtles life cycle.

Web Exhibits - ( K - 12 ) - is an online museum, with exhibits that encourage people to ask questions and examine issues from several points of view.

What Tree Is It? - ( 4 - 8 ) - this Web site will lead you through qualities of leaves and fruits from the common trees of Ohio.
