Somewhere out there is a crossroad where old blues collides with country, and there you'll find David K, dodging the wreckage to create his unique blend of acoustic country, folk and blues. David K has toured extensively across Canada, the United States, Great Britain and Ireland, impressing audiences everywhere with his Guitars, Slide & Steel Guitars, and Mandolins, plus his great singing. He is a dynamic solo performer and songwriter, as well as a gifted side-musician, and his performances have been highly praised on both sides of the Atlantic.
As a solo performer David’s music has been described as “a collision of Blues and Country”. His fine work on guitars, slide guitars and mandolins perfectly supports his strong original songs and helps him breathe new life into old blues and country tunes. Throw in his band, the K-Ottiks, and more of David’s instrumental versatility comes forward, along with a little Swing in the mix.
David K has also been a key musician and producer on CDs by many Canadian, American and British recording artists, and has performed and toured with them in Canada and abroad, most notably with the Juno Award nominated Eileen McGann Band, Britain’s Mrs. Ackroyd Band, and as one third of Canada’s outstanding vocal group Trilogy, whose critically acclaimed musical/theatrical production, "Two Thousand Years Of Christmas", toured extensively in Canada, and was twice broadcast coast to coast as a National CBC Radio Special. With Eileen McGann, he has been awarded multiple international touring grants from Canada's Ministry of External Affairs.
David has also worked on feature films, done video voice-overs, produced radio ads, and has composed and performed original music for short films and spoken word recordings. Solo or with the band, David K always leaves you hoping for "just one more.".
