 | | Welcome!
... and congratulations!
Somehow, you've managed to reach David Ingre's
Home Page.
The hard-working fellow on the right
(you can click the photo to see it larger)
bears a peculiar resemblance to me back in
1997. Frankly, I've been told that:
- My appearance has hardly changed since I was an undergraduate... when I
was tall and thin.
- The sincerity of some of my avowals may be belied by their inaccuracy.

On the left, though, is a more recent photo (likewise "enlargeable").
Regardless, I hope that you'll look around the site and that the
information and the links I've provided will be of interest. You'll find
the following:
 | On the Résumé page, not surprisingly, I've placed a
brief curriculum vitae... you're sure to be suitably impressed... J |
 | The Written Image page deals with my consulting
business... although my (more than) full-time work with Kwantlen
Polytechnic University has resulted in my having little time for consulting
over the last few years. From that page, you'll also be able to link to
information on more effective oral presentations and on the use of visuals,
as well as to: |
 | Written Image Tips, which provides
fifteen tips (surprised?) on more effective business writing. |
 | Shots From the Past offers some (mainly) old
photos. They might be of interest to people who knew my family and me before
I reached puberty. I suppose they might also be of cursory interest to
folks who like to look at pictures of people they don't know... |
 | As you'd guess, the Connections page offers number of
hyperlinks to Web sites that I think are useful and/or
interesting. You, of course, might find them singularly uninteresting;
however, as the Romans supposedly used to say, de gustibus
non disputandum est.... Yes, you'll have to look it up... J
To do so—assuming that the relevant Web pages are still available—you
can click here,
or here,
or here.... J |
 | The Heart of my Heart page is, in a
sense, a blog I started in mid-2002—before people were really
setting up blogs all over the Web. Since it tells the nearly two-year saga
of my progression from general physical exam to open heart surgery, it's
likely to be of less interest to people who aren't me... J |
A long time ago, I used to put out a newsletter (called Our Way With Words)
for clients and prospective clients, and I used to write a regular newspaper
column (called Managing Your Words; see the Résumé page). I once compiled a number
of the columns from those two sources, and "self-published" them under
the title, Hats Off to English.
The links below point to copies of a few of the columns. The files are in *.pdf
format; opening them requires the freely available Adobe Acrobat Reader.
If you do not have a current version of Acrobat Reader on your
computer, clicking the icon on the right will take you, in a separate
window, to Adobe's download site, from which you can download a copy.
Alternatively, you can right-click on any of the file names, which will give you
the option of saving the *.pdf file to your own hard-drive.

If you have comments, questions, complaints, or plaudits, you're welcome to
send them to me at davidingre@shaw.ca.
Although I promise to peruse each such message with care and attention, and to
reply to it promptly, I would refer you to point #2, above....
Thanks!
Dave
