Car Information and Specifications

BMW M Roadster

BMW led a wave of new German roadsters when it introduced the Z3 in early 1996. The Z3 is the first BMW roadster to be sold in America since the legendary 507 was discontinued in 1959. While the Z3's retro styling has the feel of classic roadsters, the car is thoroughly modern, foregoing no creature comfort or ergonomic consideration. For 1998, BMW's M motorsports division added the Z3 to its collection of high-performance M models with the addition of the M Roadster. Equipped with the same engine as the powerful M3 and styling befitting of an M car, the lightweight M Roadster reaches 60 mph in just over five seconds.

At a base retail price of $42,700, the M Roadster is equipped with a 3.2-liter DOHC 24-valve inline 6-cylinder engine that produces 240 horsepower. Standard features on this high-perforance roadster include front and rear anti-roll bars, an anti-lock brake system (ABS), 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes, 17-inch cast alloy wheels and a power convertible top.
