Nien Nunb was a Sullustan smuggler.

Biography

Before joining the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Nunb worked for the SoroSuub Corporation. As the company gradually came to support the Empire more and more, Nunb began stealing from his employers. They retaliated against him with the help of an Imperial Star Destroyer, resulting in the loss of his ship, the Sublight Queen.

He then joined the Rebellion, and eventually participated in the Battle of Endor as copilot of the Millennium Falcon alongside Lando Calrissian.

He later went on to reform the Kessel spice mines by replacing unwilling slave labor with that of droids.

Behind the scenes

• The character Nien Nunb was realized as a puppet for his appearance in Return of the Jedi. He was voiced by Kipsang Rotich, a student from Kenya, in his native tongue of Haya.
