Nanaimo Sunrisers
Serving the Children of the World

The Kiwanis Club of Nanaimo Sunrisers has served Nanaimo since 1984.

Our club is open to all who want to share their experience, knowledge, time and have a desire to help the children and people of Nanaimo.

We look for people who enjoy working with others on projects such as our annual Bullhead Derby for youngsters, fund-raising , the Xmas party for Special Needs children, a day at Departure Bay Waterpark with entertainment and free hotdogs, and our BBQ for local Seniors.

We can offer fun, work and fellowship.  And the personal rewards of helping those less fortunate.

Interested in joining us to help our community? For more information email us here .

We meet on most Thursdays at 8 am.  Last Thursday of the month is a lunch or breakfast meeting. Please email us at nanaimo.sunrisers at for details.

We have many projects through the year, and appropriate speakers are invited to our meetings, but these are the dates for our major annual events planned for 2017:

Through January, February and March we host speakers from the Nanaimo community groups that we help with donations.

Early April : Sunrisers Flag Raising at City Hall proclaiming Kiwanis Week.

Early August: Bruno’s Bullhead Derby for youngsters at Brechin Boat Launch. More details closer to the time.

Late August: Woodgrove Seniors BBQ.

First Sunday in December:  Christmas Party for children with special needs,  at Bowen Park. More details closer to the time.

Through December we volunteer at Salvation Army Kettles.
