Alexander Micheal David Hicks was our fourth little quad. He came into the world
with a faint cry on November 27th, 2001 at 6:11AM. He was 24 4/7 weeks gestation
and weighed 1 pound 1 ounce.

|
Once he was stabilized they wheeled him in to see Mommy on his way to the Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit. When Mommy and Daddy visited him later that evening he was
doing extremely well for his size. He was such a cute little man with his monkey
face. His eyes were still shut, he had hair on his cheeks and the tiniest
little fingers. |
 |
 |
He was baptized on November 30th with his parents, grandparents, and aunt present.
On the morning of December 1st he had a bleed into his groin and was quickly
losing his battle for life. |
|
His parents made the decision to take him off the ventilator. Mommy gave him mouth
care and he loved the taste of her milk. He would keep licking his lips for more.
Alexander was a boy with an appetite. |
 |
 |
After bathing and dressing him Mom sat down in a rocker while Alexander was
taken off the ventilator and wrapped in a blanket. He was passed to Mommy to
rock to sleep while Daddy and the rest of the family surrounded him with love.
He died shortly after 12:30PM on December 1st. He was creamated and placed in
an urn with his sister Kassandra. Their urn and their sisters' urn are in the
same niche right by their uncle and great-grandmother. |
