After arriving in Misahualli, we settled into our hotel, La Alberque Espaņol.  Misahualli is a very small town, at the junction of the Napo and Tena Rivers.  The main square has a number of shops and restaurants, and at various times of the day families of monkeys come in from a tree by the lagoon to wander the square, or climb the trees.

I got some nice photos of the sunset and sunrise.  The next day we got onto a tour, traveling on the Napo River. I love riding on the open boats in the rain forest, an experience that is quite unique.

We went to Amazoonica, an animal rescue facility.  Amazoonica is a special facility, and please visit it and support it if you can.  The baby tree sloth (Goblin), capstan monkey, ocelot and jaguarundi (Felina) were at Amazoonia.  We then traveled further down the river to the Jaguar Lodge, where we had lunch and hiked in the jungle.  The Green parrot, scarlet macaw and tree sloth were at the Jaguar Lodge.

The last day in the jungle we hiked La Cascadas de Misahualli, and then went to Archidona, to go in the Cueras de Jumandi, an underground river with passages, water and bats. Very cool!
