On the second day in Chicago, we went downtown again in the early evening, and went up to the Observation Level of the John Hancock Tower.  The view of the city was amazing.  

They didn't allow tripods, so I took this picture by hand with the 300mm lens.  I think it worked nicely.  The haze on the horizon colors the sunset to a fiery red colour, and the wisps of clouds provide a beautiful frame for the sun.
