This long day of traveling
is not for everyone. Four airplanes over 15 hours! We could
have gone through Toronto or Seattle but the travel time would be
similar. No matter how you break it up it's still a long

We allowed this day to
acclimatize and tour the city of San Jose, capital of Costa Rica.

We boarded a Nature Air
flight at PAVAS airport shortly after 8 am for the 45 minute flight to Drake
Bay.

|
We paddled along the coast
to a small beach to practice "surf" landings and adjust to the heat.

|
Corcovado
National Park nature tour and walk plus a "bug tour" in the evening.

|
Serious practice landing
in the surf! Great fun!

Sat4Feb
|
Longer paddle to San
Jocesitos and a short hike and canoe trip up the Rio Claro

Sun5Feb
|
Paddle across Drake Bay to
the Rio Drake and up the river to the airport.

Mon6Feb
|
Departure around 8 am from
Drake Bay and lunch and recovery in San Jose.

|
Our long day begins at 3am
Victoria time with a wakeup call in San Jose and ends about 11pm in our
own beds.
