Tech tips How to squeeze everything in a first gen. camaro trunk

Tool box with approximate dimensions: 6'' wide by 13 1/2 '' long by 6 1/4'' high will fit in the right or left side of the trunk. It will then fit in a cardboard box that will also hold other misc. tools.
Folding wooden chairs, like the ones you can get at IKEA will fit above the spare tire (With room left over if you don't have rear speakers or just if you do) or purchase foldable fabric style chairs that come with their own storage bag. The fabric kind are usually on sale at the end of season.
A square cooler with dimensions: 6'' wide by 13 1/2'' long by 6 1/4'' high will fit in the left or right rear side of the trunk and can hold 6 cans of your favorite beverage(Lil Oscar Coleman).
Plastic boxes the size of milk crates will fit in the left center section and can hold your cleaning supplies, fire ext. , glass cleaner, wipes, papertowels, sunscreen, duster, etc.
For a spare tire you have the option of going with a full size spare or a space saver spare. Original space savers (RPON65) for first gen camaros are quite pricey now and require a separate cartridge to inflate them. Space savers from 80's camaros may be easier to find.
First Gen. jacks don't take up a lot of room and can be put under your spare. Some jacks have a rubber sleeve on the jacking assembly that can hold the wheel wrench, I'm not sure if this was stock. The Base of the jack goes on top of your wheel and is held down by a wing nut. A separate adapter was used on first gen. camaros to mate the jack to the bumpers for jacking. Most repro. companies reproduction adapters if yours was tossed years ago.
When changing your fan belt and power steering belt keep the old ones in the trunk for spares.
Tools you need in your trunk toolbox.
Crescent wrenches, small and large.
Duct Tape, Black electrical tape, spare wire, Fuses (no, foil gum wrappers won't do), wire cutters.
Socket set ($5.00 bargain kind will do in a pinch).
Pliers, needle nose and regular.
Standard wrench set.
Spare points, fuel line, clamps, exacto knife.
Phillips number 2 screw driver, Long flat screw driver to adjust carb. idle and mixture.

When It's all part When your camaro is all apart for full restoration make sure to change your heater core, even if its not leaking. Its a lot easier to do now than once your interior is all installed. One of the nuts that holds the heater box onto the firewall is hidden in the right front fender. I advise you to not put a nut back on this bolt. It will save you a lot of grief later if you ever have to replace your heater core. Also ensure that you lubricate the fan motor while it is all-apart or replace if required. I have seen in some magazine articles they have drilled a hole in the end of the housing over the bearing to lubricate the side of the bearing you can't reach. You would then just have to seal the hole to prevent water or dirt getting in.
When rebuilding your engine, your accessories such as your alternator, starter, etc should also be rebuilt. It's a bummer to be out cruising with your newly rebuilt engine and have car problems because a accessory you didn't rebuild fails. The rebuild costs are cheaper than towing charges.
