A proactive community group, the Prospect Lake & District Community Association has been operating since 1956, dedicated to building and conserving the community.

We work to provide a community that promotes communication, a sense of belonging, environmental awareness, care and responsibility, safety, preserving our rural atmosphere, and monitoring it's growth. Please join us to help preserve, protect and build the Prospect Lake & District Community.

Christmas at the Lake - Craft Fair

"Our Community Hall will be the setting for the first annual CHRISTMAS AT THE LAKE CRAFT FAIR from 10-4 on Saturday, November 14. Exhibitors from all over southern Vancouver Island will be showing a very wide range of high quality crafts, gourmet food items and art. The fair will also feature live music, and a tea and lunch service. Please chat this up as widely as possible and plan to meet your friends at the fair. "

Concept Plan for Whitehead Park

"Come and see the concept plan from Saanich for the enhancements at Whitehead Park. Saanich staff are seeking community input and this is an excellent forum for the community to discuss this excellent initiative from Saanich. We appreciate the staff at Saanich in bringing this project forward and the very kind co-operation to build the opportunity for community input" PLDCA.

New Septic at the Hall

This is the group who will be replacing the septic system and distribution field at the hall.
Very environmentally advanced, restores a natural wet land.

Now accepting rentals for July onward for the newly renovated Prospect Lake Community Hall.

Please call for available dates and to arrange a tour.

Hall includes: main hall (just updated) with hardwood floors; meeting room, new commercial level kitchen, new washrooms and good parking plus a field for outdoor activities.

Hall available to host weddings and receptions, parties, reunions, meetings, clinics or regular classes (eg: yoga, dance, tai-chi).
Just north of Broadmead and Royal Oak malls.

Membership is annual and not multi-year.

Family membership includes two adults and children up to 18 years living in the same household.

All membership fees support our Prospect Lake Community and maintenance of the community hall and activities.
Your membership fee includes: numerous community celebration events throughout the year and our quarterly newsletter.

Rebates on your Country Grocer Receipts

In an unprecedented extension, Country Grocer is continuing its support through 2009 of the renovations at the community hall. This is through the very generous 5% rebate on grocery receipts.
To fully benefit from this kind support we need:

for our members to drop off their Country grocery receipts to Ken's Cafe or Oldfield Gas Sation, or mail to:

to process the receipts for rebate application.
members to purchase the Country Grocer certificates that are provided.

Community is caring for others. Community is volunteering. How do we build community? Community is built by participating and sharing in communal activities. We have our own treasured resouce for this---Our Hall. The Hall Activities Committee was formed to explore the possibilities for hall use that would build community. We have several pilot projects on the go, the Monday Yoga classes, 1st Thursday of the month Crafting, and a Guided Auto-Biography workshop for the fall. We need your input.
