   Employ, "Visual Seduction International".

.

   What is visual seduction?

At the beginning of the personal computer revolution in the business world, I was given a mission. Soon every employee in our organization would have a PC on his or her desk, and my mission was to enable each individual to use these new tools effectively.

Management believed PCs would have a great impact on personal productivity, but also worried that computers would enable employees to create documents and letters that failed to meet business standards, and possibly impact on the company's image and bottom line. We needed to let individuals use the power of the computer in their work, and at the same time ensure they had the required skills and knowledge to do so. We all needed clearly defined standards and individual training.

.

To help complete my mission, I enrolled in a special University course. As a result, I was able to establish achievable standards and provided staff training.

What impressed me most about this course was the introduction of the notion that people will not read anything that is not visually enticing. The Professor often used the term, "visually seductive". Material not visually seductive became "brief case material". A memo, letter or document that you want the boss to read ended up in his or her briefcase - to be read later, if ever. What to do? The answer is to employ visual seduction. Make the document so attractive that the CEO can't resist reading it right now! The need to produce such documents led us to the concepts and techniques we call "Presentation Technology".

To reach your audience, consider using two ingredients:

World Wide Web

.

Why you should publish on the World Wide Web.

Today almost everyone is "connected" to the web. Individuals browse for information, shop, look for services, etc.

If you run a business, provide a service, sell products, and you need to:

 Market.

Advertise and let potential customers know who you are and all about your business. You will be able to reach many people, and the number grows daily.

 Conduct Transactions.

Open lines of communication with your customers and clients. Make it easy to do business.

 Be Cost Effective.

Reduce the overheads and cost of doing business by working in the virtual world.

 Stay Current.

You can change the content of your virtual business easily. Your customers will have access to all your latest information.

You can do all of these things on the World Wide Web. All you need to start is a basic web site. Once you are up and running, you can develop, enhance and promote your site.

If business is not your motivation, maybe you would like to have a personal presence in the virtual world. There are very good reasons for doing this.

bulletTo promote special interests.
bulletTo let friends and family view your latest family photo album. This is a much better alternative than sending photo attachments by email. You can change content or your pictures frequently, and anyone can access them.
bulletGenealogy research. - Publish your family tree and make your family history available to others. Generally this will create leads that will help in your own research.
bulletFor the pleasure and satisfaction that comes with having your own presence on the World Wide Web.
bulletUnlike paper publishing, you can have a constantly changing and dynamic electronic publication. Unlike paper publishing, you will reach the entire world.

.

How to get a site on the World Wide Web:

You have access to the web through an Internet Service Provider. As part of your package, most ISPs allow space on the system for your own personal web pages. Space varies with ISP, but generally it will be enough for the majority of publishers.

.

There are basically three ways to publish on the Web.

bulletHire someone to do it for you.    The cost for this alternative will depend on the size, number of graphics, photographs, an so on.
bulletDo it yourself. . With the right software and some coaching, you could do this yourself. This alternative could end up costing you more, however, as publishing photographs and graphics may require hardware such as a digital camera, film scanner, and fast computer with plenty of memory. It could also involve additional expensive, photo editing software.
bulletA combination of the above.    A good strategy is to do the majority of the design yourself, then have your photographs or graphics scanned for you. This is the step that causes most casual web designers the most trouble.
