We
are a small kennel because we want time to enjoy our dogs and have fun
with them.
We are located three minutes from Highway 401 in Woodstock, Ontario,
Canada. This lovely town in the heart of the dairy industry is called “The City Beautiful.”
We have been breeding and raising dogs for nearly thirty years, first
with Rough Collies and then Belgian Tervurens. (We lived in the
country then.) When we moved back to the edge of town, the Cairns were
our choice because of their happy, fun-loving nature and that
wonderful shaggy look. We began showing and have made up several
champions.
Having
decided to bring in our own stud dog, we contacted Jerrie Wolfe of
Rose Croft Kennels in California and were pleased that she entrusted
us with a young male bred by Jerrie and Tom and Marie Quarles. His
name is Rose Croft A Step Ahead (Dash), and his father, Jerrie’s CH
Rose Croft Best Foot Forward, is the top winning show Cairn of all
time.
Dash quickly became a
champion with multiple Best of Breed wins, taking several Group wins
including a Group First. He was # 5 Cairn Terrier in Canada for 2001 with
limited showing. He is now retired from breeding and lives a life of
ease here at Curriewood.
We believe in responsible
breeding for health, quality and good temperament in all our puppies,
whether for breeding stock or family pets. We are constantly striving
to improve bloodlines that are free from serious genetic problems. All
our Cairns are G.C.L. clear and have normal eye checks. We give a
health guarantee on each puppy we place.
We screen our puppy buyers
carefully so please don't be offended by our questions. We want the
best possible lifetime homes for our puppies. We meet the family of
our prospective puppy owners to see the interaction between puppy and
humans.
All pets are on spay/neuter
contracts. This is to be done before one year of age. This is best for
your pet's health and longevity.
When you have questions, we are as close as the phone or e-mail. Should an emergency arise in
the future and you are unable to keep your pet, please call us first
and we will undertake to place your cairn in another loving home.
Our Cairns live in Sweden,
France, Michigan, Florida, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and of course here in Ontario.
