ROBERT DAGG was born in about 1821 in Ireland, and died Jul 31, 1900 in Clanwilliam, Manitoba. His funeral was held August 1, 1900, but his place of interment is unknown. He married ELIZABETH ??? in about 1847. She was born about 1825 in Ireland, and died some time between 1881-1891in Kitley, Ontario.

Robert Dagg lived in Kitley before moving to Clanwilliam, Manitoba. Most of the Daggs of Kitley came originally from county Wicklow, in and around the vale of Agherlow. The relationship of these early Dagg/Dack families of Kitley to one another is not clear at this time. Many of these Daggs emigrated to Canada in about 1820 or so. This Robert Dagg was in Canada by at least 1848, as his eldest son Thomas was born in Canada then. This family remained in Kitley until at least after the 1881 census. Some time before 1891, this Robert Dagg, then a widower, moved along with two of his sons to Clanwilliam, Manitoba. This family has consistently retained the use of the ‘DAGG’ spelling.

1. THOMAS DAGG was born Sep 21, 1848 in Kitley, Ontario. He married MARY A. MAGUIRE?. She was born Nov 15, 1840 in Ireland. These dates of birth come from the 1901 census. According to this same source, Mary emigrated to Canada in 1860. Mary's sister Elizabeth (age 52) is living with them.

JAMES DAGG was the third born son of Robert and Elizabeth Dagg. He was born Oct 31, 1857 in Kitley, Ontario, and died Jan 19, 1930 in Neepawa, Manitoba. He married SARAH JANE HOPKINS Dec 06, 1893 in Clanwilliam, Manitoba . She was born May 12, 1872 in Ontario, and died Aug 29, 1910 in Clanwilliam, Manitoba.
