From the 1851 Census

The following Dagg names appear in the 1851 census for Ernesttown, Addington County, Ontario. The identity of this family, or their relationship to other Daggs then in Canada remains unknown. Marriage records for one of the sons indicates that they were originally from Co. Wicklow, Ireland. The only other Dagg families that we have records for who were from Wicklow are the Daggs of Kitley. The relationship between these two geographical Dagg groups, if any, is not known.

The Ontario Marriage registers for Lennox and Addington Counties, 1858 – 1870, lists the following marriage record for William Dagg:

“William Dack (26) of Barrie, Ontario, born in Wicklow, Ireland, son of John and Ann Dagg, married April 21, 1862, Lucy M. Stephens (22) of Barrie, born in Leeds, daughter of Hawley and Elizabeth Stephens.”
