Catherine Dagg of Lissenhall, Tipperary

Catherine Dagg was born in about 1829, daughter of John Dagg and Margaret Hodgins, of Lissenhall, Kilmore Parish, Tipperary. Her lineage is more fully covered in “the Daggs of Lissenhall”. She died in about 1914. She married 1) Paris Anderson at Kilmore Church, on March 30, 1847. He was born in about 1823, in Birdhill, Tipperary, and died in 1864 in Ontario. Paris and Catherine came to Canada shortly after the birth of their first child, Ann, in 1848. Their second child, John was born in Canada in 1850. They settled in West Nissouri township, in Middlesex County, Ontario. There were at least two other Tipperary Dagg families living there at the time. Paris died in about 1864, and a few years later Catherine remarried to 2) James Logan, in about1867, in W. Nissouri Twp., Middlesex, Ontario. He was born in about 1817, in Ireland. Catherine and James were living in London city at the time of the 1881 census.

Children of Catherine Dagg and Paris Anderson:

1. Ann Anderson was born in 1848, in Tipperary, Ireland, and died in 1920; she married Robert A. Winslow. He was born in about 1853, in Ontario. This family is listed in Ward 5, London, Ontario for the 1881 census. Robert is listed there as a cooper.

i. Herbert Winslow, born about 1875 in Ontario

ii. Robert Winslow, born about 1877 in Ontario

iii. James Winslow, born about 1878 in Ontario

iv. Paris Winslow, born in June of 1880, in Ontario.

2. John Anderson was born July 20, 1850 in Middlesex County, Ontario. He married Maude Palmer. She was born October 3, 1849, in Ontario. John and Maude appear in the 1881 and 1901 censuses for Ailsa Craig, in Middlesex County. He is listed there as a carriage builder.

i. Alice Anderson, born Nov. 2, 1877, in Ailsa Craig, Ontario

ii. Paris Anderson, born Feb 18, 1880, in Ailsa Craig, Ontario

iii. Frank Anderson, born Nov. 3, 1885 in Ailsa Craig, Ontario

iv. Alfred E. Anderson, born Apr. 17, 1886 in Ailsa Craig, Ontario

v. Harry Anderson, born Dec. 26, 1890, in Ailsa Craig, Ontario

3. Margaret Anderson was born in 1853, in Middlesex County, Ontario. She married Dan MUNRO.

4. Paris Anderson was born in 1860, in Middlesex County, Ontario; He went to the USA.

5. Susan Logan was born in 1868, in Middlesex County, Ontario.

6. Robert Logan was born in 1870, in Middlesex County, Ontario.

7. Walter Logan was born in 1870, in Middlesex County, Ontario. There is a Walter Logan, aged 32, shown in the 1901 census for London Township, with his wife Annie, 24, and son Merril, aged 1. Not sure if it is this Walter.
