She was the daughter of George Hodgins and Betty Dagg.    She was born June 18, 1829 in Ireland, and died October 18, 1917 in Portage du Fort , Que.

DAGG:  In the 1871 census for Clarendon, Pontiac Co. in Que., John is listed as an Irish farmer and a member of the Church of England.   John immigrated from Ireland in 1847 and was baptized a Methodist. However, his marriage record indicates that his religion was Episcopalian.  George was the Mayor of Portage du Fort, Que., for sixteen years  before he died.
