The Hodgins family have
been extremely well researched, presented and published elsewhere. This document is not meant to act as a
definitive resource on this family in any way, and is presented here only as it
relates contextually to the Dagg line.
Sarah Dagg was born in about
1801 in Cloughjordan Parish, Tipperary, Ireland. She died Sep 30, 1870, in Shawville, Pontiac Co., PQ. She married George Hodgins. He
was born in about 1789 in Borrisokane, Tipperary, IRE, the son of George
Hodgins and Mary Williams.
He died Oct 12, 1855 in Clarendon, PQ. Sarah and George are both buried at Shawville Cemetery, Shawville, PQ.
Children of Sarah Dagg and George Hodgins:
i.
Anne Hodgins. She married John Finlay
ii. Thomas D. Hodgins, born 1824, in Terryglass. He married Rebecca
Goodwin, in Shawville Que. He
died April 6, 1882 and is
buried in the Shawville cemetery.
iii. William Hodgins, born Jan. 9, 1827, in Terryglass.
He married Almira Milkes. This family went to the U.S.A. For more

iv. Mary Hodgins
v. Sarah Hodgins, b. about
1828 in Terryglass, Tipperary; d. Mar. 5, 1923. She married James
Hodgins. He was born in about 1826, the son
of ‘Pioneer William’ Hodgins and Maria Stoney.
He died in 1899. They are both buried
at Shawville Cemetery, Shawville, Qu.
vi. Jane Hodgins, born June 18, 1829, in Terryglass, Tipperary. She married John Dagg.
vii. George Hodgins, born May 24, 1831, in Terryglass, Tipperary. He died Nov. 22, 1920, in Shawville, Que.
He married Hettie Hodgins,
daughter of ‘Yankee George’ Hodgins and Charity Hanna. She was born May 1, 1837, and died Feb 1, 1922.
viii. John Hodgins, born about
1835 in Shawville, Que., and died Sept. 25, 1908. He married Hettie
Elizabeth Hodgins, daughter of George Hodgins and Ruth Hodgins. She was born about 1835, and died Feb 3, 1911. They are both
buried in Shawville.
ix. Eliza Hodgins. She was born in about 1841, and died April 27, 1896, in Shawville, Que.
She married John McCagg. He was born in about 1839, and died Oct. 26, 1887
x. Fanny Hodgins, was born in
about 1842 in Shawville, Que. She died May 17, 1910 and is buried in Shawville. She married Richard
Hodgins, known as ‘Richard of the Creek’, son of William ‘Northbranch
Bill’ Hodgins and Nancy Wilson.
