This software was announced in a News Release in the August 1991 issue of RUN Magazine. I sent for some info and then placed an order for it in November 1991. The D64 image below is of the disk I received back from Mr. Timmins (operating as NewSpeak Software). After searching for the past couple of years I finally managed to locate and contact Mr. Timmins on September 3, 2004. He agreed to release the software as Public Domain stating he had not thought about it in years.
The image contains the three original files plus a geoWrite file containing the same basic info that you are reading now. The main program is a Desk Accessory. This means you can easily look up synonyms and antonyms from any GEOS program that supports DA's. The second file is the Data file (advertised as having more than 10,000 cross referenced synonyms). The third file is a READ ME file that states this version, 1.1, should be used instead of the previously released, buggy V1.0.
The disk also came with a small printed manual. I plan on scanning in this manual and adding it to a special version of the geoTheo disk that will be on V1.7 of the geoSpecific CD. You will find that the software is fairly intuitive and most of the features of the software are accessible without the manual.
The DA functions under GEOS 64 and GEOS 128 (40 and 80 columns) as well as under Wheels 64 and Wheels 128.
