A few words...
Many Thanks go out to Arndt Dettke of goDot fame whose proofreading of my translations have made this a far better product than it would have been otherwise.
On this page there are links to other web sites as well as files to download. I have followed the name of a downloadable file with the size of the file in parentheses like this (13 KB). If the link does not list a size after it you will be taken to another web site where you can find a file to download.
Follow this link to the GeoDOS V2.95 package on the SWRAP web site. You need GeoDOS to make use of the documents in the archive packages that are below. You should just use the GeoDOS GeoHelpView application to view these files. Do not try to open these files in GeoWrite unless you have the GeoHelp.Edit.PRN Printer Driver set as your GEOS printer driver and also have the GeoHelp.Edit.FNT Font on the same disk/partition as GeoWrite.
The one exception to the preceding statement is that you should open the 'ReadMe - English' file in GeoWrite after you unpack the archive as this file will tell you how to add the English Documentation to your GeoDOS disk or partition.
The Files
This Zipped GeoDOS Dox File (141 KB) contains all of the updated GeoWrite Documents that make up the GeoDOS and GeoHelpView Documentation - in English. Download this file, unZIP it and read the ReadMe file.
The Zipped GeoDOS Dox file above was created with Todd Elliott's GeoZIP V0.8. You can follow this next link to find the download copy of GeoZIP V0.8.
If you can't run GeoZIP then you will want to download the next file. This version of the GeoDOS Dox (441 KB - yes. 3 times the size of the zip file) contains the same files as the ZIPped version above but has been GeoPACKed. In order to make use of this file you will need to download GeoPACK (11 KB) to unPACK the archive.
If the GeoPACKed version is too big for you to download you may wish to grab this WRAPTORed (146 KB) version created with Wraptor V3. If you don't have Wraptor V3 you can download it by following this link to the download page on the LOADSTAR web site.
Of course, GEOS files can't be uploaded or downloaded in their native format. In order to transfer these files they have to be CONVERTed. If you don't have Convert or GeoConverte98f you will need a copy.
This BASIC Program (13 KB), when run, will create a GEOS copy of Convert for you. Ignore the '.cvt' extension (it is just there to make your download smoother) and RUN this program from the BASIC prompt on your C= 64. You can then use the generated copy of convert from within GEOS to convert this GEOS Desk Accessory (6 KB) version of Convert.
Once you have the D.A. version of Convert you can use it to convert the GeoPack file (11 KB) which can then be used to unPACK the '.LNX' version (441 KB) of the English GeoDOS documentation.
I hope you find the English Documentation for GeoDOS to be useful and that it lets you enGEOy the GeoDOS program and all of its many features.
