This Sunday
is a remarkable day in the life of the church, a day
which many consider to be the birth of the church.
And who did God choose to witness this glorious day,
who was to be the ambassadors tasked to send forth
his word into the world? Well, the names listed in
our reading show us that it represented all of the
known world at that time. So, on that day, God was
reaching out to all people, in all places, with a
message that transcended all barriers constructed by
people, to separate people. In this new day, and in
this new church, all were worthy to hear God’s
message, all were welcome in God’s sight.
At Campbell-Stone United Church we know that this is
as true today as it ever was, and that is why every
week we celebrate our search for greater
understanding of how God’s universal language ever
expands our sense of God’s infinite grace.
And so whoever you are, and wherever you are in your
faith journey, you are welcome to share our worship,
as we together wonder in awe at the openness of a
God that speaks to all who will allow themselves the
freedom to listen.
