A History of Tulzscha Worship The first recorded evidence of human Tulzscha worship on Earth was in approximately 2700 B.C. in ancient Egypt. It was during this time that the worshippers of Tulzscha first used their influence in the design and construction of the Step Pyramid at Saqqara. This pyramid, and others to follow, helped people keep track of various astrological events in the nighttime sky. Later on, in Ancient Greece, an astronomer / mathematician (and devout worshipper of Tulzscha) by the name Aristarchus of Samos first came up with the concept of the heliocentric view of the solar system. Unfortunately, it was this time that the Shub-Niggurath forces in Ancient Greece became stronger. These forces, who weren't not friendly to Tulzscha were able to stomp out this revelation. The same thing happened again in 16th century Italy with Copernicus. However, this time Tulzscha's forces were stronger and had more influence. This allowed them to keep the idea alive till mainstream science could appreciate it. There are still active Tulzscha worship in Italian today. Another modern Tulzscha Sect that can trace is roots back several centuries is in France. It was in France during the 18th century where two stalwart Tulzscha worshippers the Montgolfier brothers, Joseph and Etienne, first began to realize the human obsession of flight. This obsession was implanted by Tulzscha in all worshippers, so that one day they might leave they planet and join Tulzscha in the Court of Azathoth. Rules and Regulations for the Brotherhood of the Green Flame Here are a few rules that guide the life of any member of The Brotherhood. · You must always refer to Tulzscha as 'The Green Flame' or 'The Master.' Only high ranking members, High Priest or higher, may use the name Tulzscha. And no one may refer to Tulzscha as 'him', 'her' and especially not, 'it.' · Although we use the term, 'Brotherhood' our cult is not now, and never will be exclusively male. Men and woman have exactly the same rights and privileges under our laws. · When you become a member of The Brotherhood of the Green Flame you must get a small tattoo of a green flame somewhere easily concealable. On the other hand, in order to rise to the rank of Brother Alpha you must not have any tattoos, piercings, ritual scars, etc. Because of this when new Brother Alpha needs to be recruited they must be from outside the cult. This may seem counter-intuitive, but it allows for a fresh approach to be taken when new leadership is needed. · Servant of Tulzscha, Brotherhood of the Green Flame can not accept monetary donations. All donations must come in the form of good works, supplies such as books or with volunteering. If you with to help, but can not do so within the previous limitations we suggest you donate to a 'sympathetic cause' in our name. For instance, with the new reliance on science and space exploration one could donate to The X Prize, set up a bursary at your alma mata, invest in high tech companies, donate to a cause that promote logic and reasoning such as James Randi Educational Foundation, etc. If you have a question about a specific organization you can contact us before hand, and we'll look into it and decide if it's a worthy cause. If twins are born where one is male and the other is female they are considered in 'harmonious opposition.' (Very similar to the Ying / Yang or eastern philosophies.) It is thought that they have deeper insight into conflict being able to see both sides. This makes them excellent candidates for judges, arbitrators, etc. and are encouraged to train to enhance these natural skills. · On the other hand, if twins are born of the same sex (either identical or fraternal) then they are considered one mind, two bodies. For instance, if a woman was to marry one of a set of identical twin men, then she is considered married to both of them. Of course, this could conflict with bigamy laws in your area so check before taking advantage of this rule. The Objectives of the Brotherhood of the Green Flame Our ultimate goal is to reach to the stars and meet with Tulzscha at the court of Azathoth. Originally, this was to be accomplished by summoning Star Steeds and ride through the icy blackness of space. However, with the souring of Tulzscha / Hastur relations we have had to look for alternate routes. One such route was to enlist the help of either Mi-Gos or Yithians. However, when dealing with Mi-Gos the usual form of travel involves your brain being removed from your skull and placed in a small golden cylinder. And Mi-Gos, being a busy species, have a tendency to forget to put your brain back when they are done. Yithians, while far less likely to leave you collecting dust on a self somewhere, don't have the power base at this point in history to physically help us in our goal. This is where we turn to science. It may seem strange a cult to abandoned the realm of the unknown for science, but The Brotherhood's history has taught us that using magics only brings attention to ourselves. And that has never ended well for us. So science it is. But how can science help us with our goal? We can go one of two routes: the Sci-Fi Hyperdrive, Wormhole, Transporters route; or we go with a relatively low-tech Generation Ship. While more study is needed to come up with a definitive answer, right now it looks like the Generation Ship is our best bet. |
