Torlayna
began her life as an adventurer in apprenticeship to the Eyes of
the Tribunal, the northern school of theft and assasination. Gifted
with both exceptional strength and beauty, she developed a deadly
and powerful combat technique for dispatching targets. Torlayna
disdained the traditional arts of the backstab and pickpocket, as
she found it easier to simply run a person through and then loot
the corpse.
Tory's
career changed abruptly one night in a Halas tavern. A drunken warrior
mistook her for a serving wench and tried to find his missing house
keys in her cleavage. Having no patience with clumsy come-ons, she
removed his hand from her breasts and threw him out the window,
along with three of his friends who tried to interfere. In the heat
of the moment, Tori forgot she was on an upper floor of the building,
and the warriors fell three stories.
The
next day, Torlayna was obliged to enter an anger management program.
Fortunately, the northern barbarian society was relatively tolerant
of violent rage, provided it was directed at enemies. Her rogue
training was supplemented with techniques to focus her anger, and
she became known and respected in the community as a bezerker. Tori
recently gained fame in a dueling competition with a neighbouring
guild, when she infiltrated their compound and assasinated their
leader four times in succession.
