Some explanations
on my build:
Why would
you buy the tactician line when it increases your intel at the cost of
str?
-I find Tactician 2 to provide a better training point return than Superior
Intellect. With Superioir Intellect, you spend 50cms for 100tps (or a
2:1 ratio). With Tactician 2 you sepnd 15 cms for 50tps (3.3:1 ratio).
It's true, in total you'll take a -15 hit to str, but even with that I
still max str at 425. This, and the stat maxes, were the only intel cms
I needed in order to hit 515.
Why haven't
I bought Battle Hardened.?
- A couple of years ago during CB, they added 8 defmods to Death Scream.
At the time, I had BH, and with the other defmods this made a total of
13. But, BH gives a poor tp return on cm investment. 45 cms nets you 45
sta, plus the 1 def mod at the end. I decided to purchase the Sta CM stat
line instead, so 50cms got me 100tps, and I gave up the defmod that came
with BH. 12.....13 defmods....who cares when I can't tell the difference
when they're on anyway?
Note: In
the end, I'll be giving up Elven Reflexes (:sniff: goodbye Agi 610) for
my last intel max, and I'll continue cm'ing to 1500 in anticipation of
taunts being fixed and wanting to purchase the cm upgrade line for sk's
which is 100. Up until now, our SK cm taunt line had the lifetap component
completely resisted by raid mobs, so as it added no additional hate I
had not purchased it.
Gear: I used
to use the picklaw sash as my belt, compare below to the primeval iron
girdle:
Primeval Iron
Girdle AC:31 HPMax:185 FR:15
Pickclaw Sash: AC:30 HPax170 Sta40
Is very close in stats, and my primary concern was for AC so I wasn't
too concerned with the HP difference. I now use the Armored Shell Belt
with AC of 115 (no other stats). Essentially I traded away 170HP for 85
more in AC. It's worth the HP loss (to me) to keep my sustainable AC above
the 6k threshold.
When compared
with jp's "best tank gear" set
up, I'm still missing a few pieces:
-I use the Sapph Sword, not the white obilterator
-don't have Chestplate of the Bastion
-still using Barbed Collar vs. Pendant of Razeal
-slaying ring vs obsidian ring.
In the world
according to JP, with the 'dream' gear set up, I'm close, but more work
needs to be done equipment wise in order to break that mythical 7kAC barrier
for DKs.
