Milla Jovovich stars as Ultraviolet, one of many genetically
modified humans (hemophagia) by a vampire-like disease, which
gives them enhanced speed, acute intelligence, and incredible
stamina. The world is pushed to worldwide civil war, between
"normal" humans and the hemophages, and in the middle stands
Ultraviolet, who finds herself protecting a nine-year-old boy
who has been marked for death by the human government as he is
believed to be a threat to humans.
This movie isn't all it's hyped up to be. Special effects make
up the majority of the movie. The plot is weak, and the
storyline barely holds together. Fans of vampire and
supernatural movies may enjoy this movie for what it's worth,
but as far as I'm concerned, the only good part of the movie is
the homage to the comic book series when the credits roll at the
beginning of the film. I do not recommend this movie. |
