Reese Witherspoon and Mark
Ruffalo star. This movie has a surprisingly original concept.
Witherspoon is a young, intelligent doctor who is working hard
to go places professionally. After a long 26 hour shift, she is
sent home to get some rest. On the way home, she is talking to
her sister on her cellphone when a large truck skids out of
control, where she ends up in a coma. Three months later, it
becomes evident to her family that she may not recover, so they
decide to rent out her luxurious apartment. The man, Ruffalo,
begins to settle into his new home when he confronts the
spirit/ghost of her. She is unaware that she is dead, and has no
idea who she really is. Although reluctant at first, he agrees
to help her find out who she is and what happened to her. As the
movie continues on, they build a relationship. They become
determined to get her spirit back to her body so she can wake up
and so they can be together. This is a very sweet
comedy/romance. It has some very touching and heartfelt scenes.
The film does not feel rushed at all, and events seem to take
place at a good pace. The characters are well developed, and the
plot and storyline and wonderful. This is an excellent date
movie for any couple. One of the things I liked about it is the
film got it's points across without getting mushy about it. I
highly recommend this movie.
