Samuel L. Jackson and
Julianne Moore star in this
film inspired by a true story in which a woman (Moore) claims
that her four year old son has been kidnapped by a car-jacker,
and the police detective (Jackson) who works tirelessly to seek
the truth about what happened to her son. Moore gives what may
be one of the best performances of her career as the deranged
and delusional mother.
The movie not only portrays the horror of what losing a child
might feel like, but gives an accurate representation of life in
the slums of New York. As any great movie should, the audience
feels for the circumstances and characters, which allows for
greater appreciation and understanding of the plot and
storyline. The movie does not feel rushed, nor is it too long,
allowing the viewers to be captivated throughout the film. This
film is as intense and suspenseful as it is entertaining. I
highly recommend it.
