Ving Rhames and Sarah Polley star
in this original horror movie based on the idea that Hell has
become full, and the dead are walking the Earth. The main
characters isolate themselves in a fairly new, yet abandoned
mall after the rest of the city's population have either escaped
or been killed by the dead. The film is full of gory scenes, but
it really wouldn't be a horror flick without them. Eventually,
they are forced to leave the mall for safer ground, a nearby
island, however, they must fight their way through the carpet of
zombies walking around the city. The characters are convincing,
the dialogue doesn't seem manufactured from every other horror
movie, and the movie keeps the audience intrigued and interested
throughout, even during the closing credits. The zombies, likely
the most important part of the film, are very realistic. The
special effects are creative, and unlike most horror films,
don't appear fake. The music is intuitive and relevant, although
the characters drive the movie. Lastly, the camera angles are
pure genius, and really grab the audience. I highly recommend
this movie! |
