This is one of the best movie I
have seen in quite some time. It has everything that makes a
great movie, suspense, action, drama, and some heartfelt scenes,
great acting, and a solid plot. When a woman's husband is at the
wrong place at the wrong time, he captures two brutal killings
on video tape by a corrupt bunch of the LAPD. The men, who are
determined not to let the video tape get to their superiors and
ruin their careers, kidnap the man's wife (Kim Basinger), and
interrogate her into telling them where the video tape is, of
which she has no knowledge. As incentive, they kidnap her boy
from school. As all of this is going on, she manages to randomly
call a young man on his cell phone via a broken phone in the
room she is being held, and convinces him to help her notify the
police. As with any cell phone, he desperately tries to not lose
the signal, and keep the battery charged, all while racing to
get to the authorities and save her. The movie kept my attention
throughout, and allowed me to not only believe such a situation
could actually happen, but feel for the characters as well.
There are very few movies that are this well made anymore, and I
highly recommend you see it! |
