Acknowledgments & Bibliography
I only have a vague memory from my childhood about Steam Locomotives. But
as far as I can remember I have always been fascinated with Steam Locomotives.
One of my most vivid childhood memories is of my dad taking me to StLuc Yard
in Montreal and seeing a whole bunch of steam locomotives lined up to be scrapped.
I remember my dad, who also worked for the CPR, telling me that the scrap value
of these would be about $10/ton. I remember thinking that at that price I could
probably afford one; but where could I keep it?
That is probably the limit of my first hand knowledge on the topic. I have
therefore needed to do some research and ended up "borrowing" much material
I have used for this web site.
The following are my current main sources of information and photos:
- Current and past issues of the Canadian Pacific
Railway News
Published by Canadian Pacific Railway,

- Past issues of the SPANNER magazine (Circa 1970's)
