After an opening Multi 2 by opponents, calls in direct seat show:

• Double = takeout of weak 2
• 2 = hearts and a minor
• 2 = spades and a minor
• 2NT = takeout of weak 2
• 3/3 = natural
• 3/3 = natural and strong (good enough suit to be confident it's not opener's)
• 3NT = natural, usually based on running minor
• 4 = strong: clubs and hearts (Leaping Michaels)
• 4 = strong: diamonds and hearts (Leaping Michaels)

Delayed calls show:

• Double = strong balance
• 2 = natural
• 2NT = minors
• 3 = clubs and four cards in the major opener doesn't have
• 3 = diamonds and four cards in the major opener doesn't have
• 3/3 = natural
• 4 = strong: clubs and spades (Leaping Michaels)
