Hand harmony

When working with both hands, as in rio te tori, be mindful of both hands. Have both hands agree and move together in harmony to pass the right message on to uke - or keep one quiet. Do not generate noise with the quiet hand as this will confuse uke and mar your technique. What is in your mind is in your hands and is felt by uke. If one hand is leading uke and the other hand is confused, this will distract uke’s mind and the technique will not be smooth.
Extend your awareness through both hands but do not focus on your hands.
