Appliance Service and Repair
Introduction
I have spent thirty years as a road technician, repairing and
servicing all the major appliances. Until 2007, I worked with
Westcoast Appliance in Victoria ... one of the largest appliance
service depots on Vancouver Island. Before that, I owned and
operated an appliance service and sales business with my father in
Kelowna, BC. This business is in my 'blood', so to speak. When i
moved up to Parksville a year ago, the idea was to retire from the
business, but true to my nature, I 'gotta' fix things ... so I am
cheerfully offering my services once again. The following is a
run-down of what I do:
Laundry
I service and repair all makes of washers and dryers. I will also
do tune-ups for your machinery, since we all know by now that 'a
stitch in time saves nine!' There is a lot of machinery coming
on to the market from Korea and China and some of it I will not
touch. Not because I have something against those machines, it's
just that parts and service information is incredibly hard to come
by. I will tell you if I can work on your system with
confidence.
Fridges
I service almost all types of refrigerators. Tell me your make
and model, and I will let you know if I service it. Thirty years of
experience in the business has shown me that most refrigerator
problems are electrical, and not because of sealed system problems
(i.e. gas leaks and compressors). Therefore, I have decided that I
will no longer do sealed system repairs. In the unlikely chance that
your fridge is not working because of a freon leak or compressor
failure, and I haven't already figured that out by talking with you
on the phone or email ... I will refer your case and not charge you
for the visit. As I said, this is unlikely ... this problem is rare,
and when it occurs, I can usually tell you over the phone. Should
your fridge need a compressor or have a gas leak, it is often not
worth repairing anyway ... and if you do want to fix it, most
service men will charge you a pick-up and delivery fee to do the job
in the shop. The days of in-home compressor changes are coming to a
close.
